I was up in Leeds visiting my cousin Eleri This weekend . We started the day in a gorgeous Moroccan cafe called Oranaise. http://www.oranaise-cafe.co.uk/ We had some fresh tasty minty tea to wake us up from our night out with some traditional macaroon sweets they were so Moorish they were not on the plate long. Its defiantly worth making a stop here if your ever about Leeds. http://www.oranaise-cafe.co.uk/
From here we took a walk through Hyde Park before heading into the centre to go take a look around Remember When...... an exhibition that is on at the Leeds craft centre and Design Gallery. http://www.craftcentreleeds.co.uk/Remember_when.html. It has a mix of Jewellery, ceramic, wood works and mix media objects. I particularly enjoyed seeing the work my Lindsey Mann. Lindsey uses a range of mix media materials and found objects combined with the use of precious metals to make kinetic pieces of Jewellery.
I also Loved seeing the Work by Jacqueline Cullen who works in whitby Jet To produce these fantastic Statement Rings. Have a look at more of her work at http://www.jacquelinecullen.com
'Remember When'........... Is on Until the 25th June 2011

Whilst We were there we Had a Look around the Henry Moore Exhibition That was on at the Leeds art Gallery http://www.leeds.gov.uk/artgallery/Leeds_Art_Gallery/Exhibitions.aspx . There is a Huge selection of his work there. It was interesting to see them as I have admired his work for a long time now and I am inspired by his use of smooth curved lines and shape.
